Cultural Tourism: Welcome

 Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge, created by Washington Roebling in 1869 spans from East River from Brooklyn to Manhattan. It was the first bridge to use steel for cable wire, and during its construction explosives were used inside a pneumatic caisson. The Brooklyn Bridge is also a symbol of optimism for the people of New York and the United States. It also symbolizes opportunity  for the people of Manhattan and industry.

Walking Across The Bridge:

To begin walking the bridge, you need to take the walkway that begins on Tillary street and Boerum place. The bridge is over 1 mile long and 2km long. It takes about 30 minutes to walk across it. As you are walking across the bridge, you can take many pictures and enjoy the beautiful view.

Activities to do at Brooklyn Bridge Park:

At the Brooklyn Bridge Park, you can visit the different piers. The piers all offer something different. Pier 1 offers the best view of the Manhattan skyline and East River and Pier 3 is the Greenway Terrace which offers a granite terrace, art installations, open lawns, and views of the skyline.
